One sugar or two...
So this table is one of those projects that turn out to be
more difficult than they look. I didn’t expect it to take as much time as it
did but I did want it to turn out just right. So the base of the table was
sanded down vigorously several times. I originally was going to paint it an exotic
color but after sanding it and then wiping it down I saw the layers of paint
that were hidden underneath the top coat. I really liked the look it gave the
table so I worked with it. The top was sanded down several times as well as
repainted. I needed to add something to accentuate the table so I added an
accent color. I wanted to choose a color that would define the unusual shape of
the table. This was probably the most difficult part of this project! I tried
several different colors, wiping them off before they dried until I found one
that worked. The seafoam green was the winner for several reasons. It didn’t
take away from the different shades of yellow displayed but played off of it
adding character.
