Sanding, sanding, and more sanding!! Layers later.... I was able to start the first NEW layer of paint! I was inspired by the fabric chosen and began with an Apple Green as the base color. and for the top coat I chose a Smokey Blue. I distressed the chair using sandpaper and some steel wool. The cushion was added for comfort and finally the chair was completed with two layers of Poly!

One sugar or two...

So this table is one of those projects that turn out to be more difficult than they look. I didn’t expect it to take as much time as it did but I did want it to turn out just right. So the base of the table was sanded down vigorously several times. I originally was going to paint it an exotic color but after sanding it and then wiping it down I saw the layers of paint that were hidden underneath the top coat. I really liked the look it gave the table so I worked with it. The top was sanded down several times as well as repainted. I needed to add something to accentuate the table so I added an accent color. I wanted to choose a color that would define the unusual shape of the table. This was probably the most difficult part of this project! I tried several different colors, wiping them off before they dried until I found one that worked. The seafoam green was the winner for several reasons. It didn’t take away from the different shades of yellow displayed but played off of it adding character.

This is the matching footstoool for the ZEBRA PRINT ARMCHAIR. This addition made this match complete! Perfect for sitting back with a good book, a nap, or just to relax!

This well crafted footstool wasn't really in bad shape at all. BUT.... I LIKE COLOR and I really wanted to match it to the zebra chair I completed before this. I felt the two went really well together (and they did since they sold as a pair!) I am usually able to just sand away but for this piece I had a very rough top coat to get through. There are severl different forms of strippers (and I am speaking of the paint removers..) out there so follow the directions on the container. The gyst... lay it on .. let it set .. scrape/wipe it off. This isn't my favorite part what so ever! ((sighhhh))

But it is totally worth it since the outcome makes me smile from ear to ear for days (or until it's sold).

Have a seat ...

After spending quite some time reupholstering an entire camper I moved to a much smaller project! This chair was in such bad shape it was given to me ... instead of getting thrown in the trash! I Love giving life to old thngs! It needed to be completely refurbished from the inside out! I have this thing with animal prints (fake of course!) This chair will be the first piece done on the animal prints line I plan on doing.

CAMPER REUPHOLSTERY

No Project is EVER to BIG...

Time and dedication are the keys to completing the larger and more difficult jobs such as REUPHOLSTERY! My "creative outlet" expands beyond limits. Working with fabric can tranform any piece into, a MASTERPIECE!

I was recently asked to reupholster an entire camper! The job was a bit overwhelming at first but piece by piece and day by day it I was seeing a masterpiece develop. This job was a reminder to me ... a little har work and dedication go a long way!
